Now your website is live. A friend of yours threw the site together for you. The site looks very sharp. Now 6 Months have passed and the site hasn't accomplished anything. New customers and sales were supposed to be generated by now. Why haven't any of your expectations been met? Why doesn't your site get any traffic?
If your site does not show up on Google, that could explain your poor results. Your site needs to be findable in Google by those searching for your product or service. Why Google? Google has an overwhelming amount of the searches done online today. In order to succeed, your website needs to show up on Google to get some of that traffic. You must make it a point to get listed in Google.
There are simple methods to get your site indexed by Google. There are simple and difficult methods which will get your site added to Google's index. Here are the three simplest ways: submit your url to Google directly, get a website that shows up in Google's search results to link to your site, or submit a relevant article which you have written to article directories
Submitting directly to Google's add url page is the easiest, but least effective method. Your site will be added to the que of sites waiting to get added, which may or may not end up happening. In reality, Google would rather find your site on their own.
Another method is to get a link to your website from a site or webpage already indexed. Google will then (at some point) crawl that site again and follow the backlink to your site, hopefully adding it at that point if they like what they find. The more frequently the site updates it content, the more frequently Google will revisit the site and find yours.
The third and best method is to write an article about a topic related to the content of your site. Articles have a resource box where the author's information (and a link to your site) is entered. Article directories are frequently crawled by search engines to find content. Once your article (and your backlink) get added to the article directory website, it won't be long before Google finds the link and follows it.
These 3 methods are simple and easy to implement. Once your site gets listed in Google search results, search engine optimization will be necessary so that the web site show up as as high in the search results as possible. It is utterly essential to show up on Google search results. Your web site's success depends on it.
